IU Kelley School Donor mailer and form
This envelope and return form combination was created to both thank the generous donors who have contributed to the support of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business as well as reach out and ask if they would like to add to their contributions. The goals for this mailer were to create an interactive and unique letter that answered both content and packaging issues in a single piece while highlighting the IU and Kelley brand.
I worked with our printer to create a custom
die-cut envelope frame that would fold together for mailing and unfold to reveal the thank you message and tearable donation form at the bottom. One challenge I wanted to address was that we didn’t want the wings that connect the bottom section to the middle to tear any information on the donation form or get in the way of the sealing flap at the top. The solution was to make room on the sides of the form so content didn’t reach into the space needed to attach the wings and the corners were bent in to avoid issue folding the top and bottom sections together. We also needed to make sure mailing instructions were included for the donor form, so the bottom page was split to contain the form and a small section at the top for the mailing instructions.
This piece was set up to be mail-merged with a list of previous donors who would receive it. The merge included a personal mailing name and address for each person and places within the thank you letter would be merge with the receivers name so it felt like they received the note just for them and not just a bulk mailing notice for a general group.
