The National Diversity Case Competition is a Kelley School of Business annual event and requires promotional materials to be updated with the latest statistics, event scheduling and registration information, as well as refreshing the T-shirt the competitors and organizers relieve at the competition.
The T-shirt has evolved over the years and used to incorporate a shadow of the United States map, to just a shadow of Indiana that highlighted Kelley in Bloomington. This time, a request was made to step out off of the map and try to build an image that still speaks diversity and problem solving. I landed on a combination of a cyber globe to represent connection in the world and added a chain of gears to represent an operational system. The back always has different sponsors and need to have the companies logos cleaned up for print and adjusted in color depending on the color of the T-shirt that year.
The informational handouts are redesigned every year to incorporate new descriptions, dates, and composition highlights. Event sponsors also change and need to be confirmed and recognized. These handouts are meant to entice students to join the competition with the chance to earn rewards, experience, and chance to network for their future careers.
Though the main stats board was initioally constructed by another designer in my marketing team, each year new information needs to be added and moved to accurately reflect the numbers they are being shown. I work with many fact finding individuals to acquire the lated stats and adjust elements to reflect that information so students can use them if they need.
